Fruit Pizza – Key Ingredients
▪ Crust – There are two different options for the crust, sugar cookie dough or crescent roll dough. If you don’t want it to be to sweet then use the crescent dough. I prefer the sugar cookie crust, it holds up really well to the weight of the fruit and compliments the flavor of the sauce.
▪ Sauce – Raspberry sauce is my favorite, but you can make just about any flavor that you’d like. You’re only limited by what flavors of yogurt that are available.
▪ Toppings – Sliced berries, kiwi, bananas, mangoes and pineapple are all delicious options. I would stay away from any citrus fruits, they are watery and will make the dough soggy.
How to Make Fruit Pizza
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Using your hands press the cookie dough into the bottom of an ungreased baking sheet. Score cookie dough with a knife, so the cookie will break apart easily.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are light golden brown and the center is firm. Allow to cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese and the yogurt until it’s smooth.
- Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled cookie dough.
- Top with sliced fruit and coconut. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
Variations to the Recipe
- Chocolate Raspberry – use chocolate cookie dough for the crust, raspberry yogurt for the sauce and top with raspberries and chocolate syrup.
- Banana Split – use chocolate chip dough for the crust, cool whip and cream cheese for the sauce and top with bananas, strawberries, pineapple, cherries and chocolate syrup.
- Blueberry Delight – use sugar cookie dough for the crust, blueberry yogurt for the sauce and top with fresh blueberries and lemon zest.
