With this simple recipe, you’ll achieve that creamy, rich taste accompanied by a delightful zip that’s absolutely delicious. The secret to perfect guacamole? Aiming for that ideal balance – not overly smooth but not too chunky, either. Essentially, crafting guacamole is all about preserving its incredible flavor while fine-tuning the texture to your preference.
GUACAMOLE: SIMPLE RECIPE FOR PERFECT FLAVOR AND TEXTURE
Hey amigos! Ever flustered over achieving that perfect guacamole texture? Don’t sweat it! Here’s the lowdown: mashing the (Haas) avocados just right is the key. Too much and it turns into a mushy mess, too little and you’re left with big chunks. It’s all about finding that sweet spot where it’s creamy but still has some delightful chunks. So grab your avocados and let’s fluster our way to guacamole greatness!
But fear not, amigos! There’s a buster for that guac texture struggle. The secret? Use a fork instead of a blender or food processor. This way, you have more control over the mashing process. Start by gently pressing the fork into the avocados, then give it a few firm but careful mashes. Keep at it until you reach your desired texture – creamy with just the right amount of chunkiness. And voila! You’ve busted the guac texture code like a pro!

🫙STORAGE TIPS
Keeping Your Guacamole Fresh and Tasty
Refrigerate: To keep your leftover guacamole tasting great, put it in the fridge right away. Use an airtight container to help it stay fresh. If you press a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the guacamole before sealing the container, it can help prevent browning. Guacamole will keep in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Stir before serving.
Freeze: You might not know this, but you can freeze guacamole! To do it right, place your guac in a freezer-safe bag or container. Squeeze out as much air as you can before sealing it. When you’re ready to enjoy it, thaw in the fridge for a day. Frozen guacamole can last for up to 3 months. Just know, the texture might change a bit after freezing, but it’ll still be yummy for use as a spread or mix-in.

I also love guacamole and your recipe is a lot like mine! 🙂 Avocados are actually a pretty new thing for me as my family did not have them when I was growing up, and even after I was married I didn’t known much about them. Now that I’ve discovered them I love them! I might try your mom’s idea of using them in place of butter sometimes. After all they are one of the good fats. 🙂 Blessings to you! I’m visiting from #SittingAmongFriends.
Did you know that avocados are also referred to as poor man’s butter? I think that’s how my mom came up with the idea of using them to replace butter in a lot of her recipes. She was cooking healthy, before cooking healthy was cool.
We love a great Guacamole and your recipe looks delicious. Have a great weekend and thanks so much for sharing with Full Plate Thursday.
