Garlic, who knew that it could be used for more than just flavoring food? This question, in fact this whole series has me wondering how many items I’ve purchased over the years that could have been avoided if I only knew my grandmother’s secrets. Our generation seems to have been sucked into some kind of marketing vortex. Manufacturers and advertisers telling us that their products will make us more beautiful, make our lives easier, save us time and money, and so on. Really? Are we that gullible?
Many of the products on the market today have a list of ingredients that would take a linguistics expert to read and a chemist to explain. Yet we happily lay down our hard earned money because we blindly believe their claims. I am by no means a “naturalist” or have ever considered myself to be, but this series has really opened my eyes. It makes sense to me that all of the natural or pure products in this series are healthier for us. They are also considerably cheaper than their manufactured counterparts and have more than one use.

** If, by some small miracle, you worked at Amway in Ada, MI in the 1980’s and were the person my mother loaned the notebook to, please contact me. The notebook is a small (aprox. 6″x9″) black leather, 3-ring binder, and contains hand drawn patterns (teddy bear), recipes and household tips and tricks. It would mean so much to my family to have it back.
Another great collection, Robin! The splinter advice would come in very handy as my hubby is forever having problems with splinters in his hands! {we also give our dogs garlic mixed in with their food once a week – keeps away the fleas and flies}
I SO love garlic. It totally helps with toothaches/infections. I had a bad infection in my mouth and couldn't really do anything because it was the weekend. The garlic helped me LOTS! I just took a crushed piece of garlic with some raw honey on a spoon lol. Fabulous post. : )
Fascinating! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures

Very Informative! Garlic is one of the foods that are more medicinal properties for health and skin. Due to these properties this can be used to treat various health and skin problems. I recently treated my warts by ussing garlic and I was able to get rid of my warts.
It’s amazing stuff! It works great for warts.
