You have a choice between making something that you know they’ll like or making something that you know is good for them. If you’ve had a hard day, making something that they like sure has its benefits, a peaceful meal, that gets you away from the table quickly. However, make something that they don’t like and your day feels like it will never end.

I never know what my week is going to be like, so on Sunday when I’m planning the menu, I fill the weekdays with simple recipes that I know that the kids will like and will avoid table tantrums.

One of their favorites is this Philly Cheese Bread, I think it has to do with the cheese and the pizza crust, because what kid doesn’t like pizza. I like it because, it’s pretty simple to make, it avoids table tantrums and if I serve it with some fruit and vegetables I know that they are getting a pretty healthy meal. Win, Win for a tired mom!

Ingredients Needed:

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound lean ground sirloin
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 bell pepper, chopped
1/4 cup steak sauce
1 cup water
2 beef bouillon cubes
salt and pepper, to taste
8 provolone cheese, slices
pizza dough, thin crust

When you say “steak sauce” what do you mean? Is this A-1? or worcestershire?

I like to use A-1, but Heinz 57 works too.
