Super creamy mac & cheese is so cheesy and delicious you’ll never buy the boxed version again. It can be served as a side dish or add some smokie link sausage and serve it as a main dish. It’s easy to make and a kid favorite which is why it made it to our list of #mommymeals.
What was your favorite meal when you were a kid? Mine had to be macaroni and cheese. I think it was a favorite because it’s one of the first things I learned how to make. Boil some water, cook the noodles, drain, and stir in the cheese powder, pretty simple for a kid. It was the only dish I knew how to make for a long time, I guess that’s why it topped my list of favorites. I remember being so proud of myself that I could cook my own meal.
To this day I still love macaroni and cheese, however, that powdered cheese stuff doesn’t do it for me anymore. I’ve got to have real cheese and a variety of it, plus it has to be super creamy because dry mac & cheese is plain disgusting.
I’ve tried several different macaroni and cheese recipes and this one is by far my favorite (the kids too). It makes a great side dish – but my favorite way to have it is by adding smokie links and onions and making it a main dish and serving it with some vegetables. It’s incredibly creamy and is packed with a ton of cheesy flavor. You’re gonna love it!

1 package smokie links, sliced
1/2 onion chopped
