Home Organization Challenge: Day 13 – Weekly Challenges

Today, do something special for yourself to celebrate all that you’ve accomplished so far. The Home Organization Challenges may not have seemed like a big deal but when you put them all together, you’ve really accomplished something BIG. Every challenge that you’ve done has helped to set you up for a successful day and help to eliminate the daily chaos in your life.

Continue perfecting these Challenges: (don’t forget to celebrate)

  • Good Morning
  • Good Afternoon
  • Good Night
  • Work on your Reminder Binder
  • 20/20 (de-cluttering)
Day 13 – Weekly Challenges

For the next week we are going to be working on Weekly Challenges, these are things that need to be addressed often but not everyday. Just like with our Daily Challenges, Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Night and 20/20, Weekly Challenges help to eliminate chaos too. There is a lot of value, particularly time, when we know what needs to be done and when. So, today we are going to discuss some of the things that need to be taken care of weekly and then tomorrow, we’ll start putting them in action.

Today I want you to think about things that need to be done around your home on a weekly basis and make a list. We’ll be using your list for next weeks challenges. Below is a list of ideas to help get your list started..

Weekly Tasks

  • Change sheets
  • Empty trash
  • Clean the microwave
  • Vacuum/Sweep
  • Mop
  • Dust
  • Clean mirrors
  • Clean out refrigerator
  • Create menu/shopping list
  • Grocery shopping
  • Errands/Appointments
  • Family meeting
  • Family Fun Activity
  • Date Night
  • Home projects/yard work
  • Pay bills
  • Respond to emails
  • Clean desk
  • Clean car
  • Vacuum car
  • Get gas
  • Check oil
  • Check tire pressure
  • Time for me

I suppose some of the items on the list could be done daily, but for the most part, weekly is good enough. Let me know what you’ve added to the list.Here is a list of categories to help you make your list.

  • Power Hour – quick cleaning tasks
  • Office Day – things that need to be done in the office
  • Me Day – things that you can do for yourself
  • Errand Day – running around
  • Anti-Dawdle Day – things that you put off doing
  • Family Day – activities with the family
  • Planning Day – plan your week
