Traveling is one of the most beautiful things you can do for your soul. There’s a saying: Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer. You can see lots of marvelous places, meet interesting people and do things that will make nice memories when you’re old. Unfortunately, one negative part of the traveling is that it will put pressure on some parts of your body, including your feet by getting a callus.
Waking up with the callus on your feet after long hours of walking or doing the physical activities can be painful. You might feel such pain on your feet that you won’t be able to put your feet on the ground.
Many times, calluses occur on your feet because of the wrong sized shoes, which you wore last night. Whatever is the reason, calluses are always painful and make your feet look ugly. Hence, it is important to find the right solution for the callus. Generally, calluses are not serious, they can be treated easily by several methods.
Removal of the callus
A callus is nothing but the thick and the hard patches of dead skin. Thickening and hardening of the dead skin cells occur due to continuous friction on a particular area on your feet. It protects the skin from further friction but gives you pain. Hence, there is a need to get the callus removed by getting the right solution.
There are several home remedies, medical treatments and surgical treatments which are helpful in removing callus. You can take help from your physician or GP for suggesting you the best method for removal of calluses. In case, you don’t want to see your doctor, as the callus is not severe, then you can follow some fruitful home remedies which can help you to get rid of the callus effectively.
Tips to try at home, remedies for removing callus
Some of the best suggestions for removing callus are:
Use electric callus remover: These days electronic callus removers are available. These types of removers are the small handheld machines that have an attached roller which operates on battery. When you take the roller close to the area around the callus and turn on the machine, the dead skin will be removed by the roller. This is a painless method of precisely removing the thickened dead skin of the callus. You can get the best callus remover at the affordable rates to cure your problem.
Pumice stone is another effective solution: Pumice stone is the rock that is formed by the hardened lava of the volcano. This type of stone has a porous surface. When you rub the callus with this stone, dead cells are removed effectively and the callus is removed. Gently, rub the pumice stone on the callus while dipping your feet in the warm water. This will gently remove the callus from your feet.
Callus removal surgery: This method of callus removal is advised only when the condition turns out to be serious. Podiatrist performs the surgery and effectively removes the callus. Sterile surgical blades can be used by the surgeons to cut the thickened skin to remove the callus. If the callus has occurred due to the friction between the longer and the smaller metatarsal bones then the surgical method is effective in the removal of callus.

I am a runner and that comes with calluses. I have always taken the time to care for my feet, though, and I’m glad. They are (mostly) presentable and comfortable.

Thanks for sharing this. In fact, I never thought that calluses can appear simply due to the fact that you are wearing uncomfortable shoes, although this is so logical. I am one of those who can buy shoes in the hope that over time it will become wider. But this does not always work, and now I understand where the calluses on my feet come from. But now I will know how to act in such situations and what to do so that no calluses remain. Very interesting article.
