Ingredients

Beef Stroganoff

  • 12 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 4 cubes beef bouillon
  • 4 ounces mushrooms stems & pieces
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • salt & pepper to taste

Side Dishes

  • 2 cups baking mix
  • 1 can (15 ounce) green beans drained
  • 2 tablespoons butter (or margarine)

Instructions

Beef Stroganoff

  • Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions.
  • In a skillet, over medium heat, break up the ground beef and cook until it is no longer pink. Drain off any fat.
  • Add the diced onions to the pan and continue to cook over medium heat until the onions are translucent about 2-3 minutes.
  • Slowly add the water to the pan and drop in the 4 beef bouillon cubes. Turn up the heat and bring it to a boil, continue to boil until the liquid is reduced to about half.
  • Reduce heat to medium and add the can of drained mushrooms; cook for 2-3 minutes to warm up the mushrooms. Turn off the heat.
  • Add 1 cup of sour cream to the pan, and stir until well combined, add salt and pepper if needed.  Serve over egg noodles or mix it with the egg noodles.

Side Dishes

  • Prepare drop biscuits according to the homemade baking mix recipe. Brush with a little melted butter before baking to give them added flavor and color.
  • Add the drained green beans to a small pan, add some butter, and cook over medium-low heat until heated through.
