Philly Cheese Bread

Seasoned ground beef, topped with provolone cheese and wrapped in pizza dough. This delicious, simple, inexpensive and fun way to serve Philly cheese steak always has the kids asking for more. #MommyMeals

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground sirloin
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1/2 bell pepper chopped
  • 1/4 cup steak sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 provolone cheese slices
  • pizza dough thin crust

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground sirloin in olive oil. Add the onion and bell peppers and cook until the onions and peppers are tender.
  • Stir in the steak sauce, water, bouillon cubes and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until liquid is completely absorbed. Set aside.
  • Place parchment paper on a baking sheet. Stretch pizza dough on the parchment paper. Place four slices of cheese on the pizza dough, near the edge of the dough. Spoon the meat mixture over the cheese, staying away from the edges.
  • Roll the cheese and meat mixture up in the pizza dough. Pinching off the ends.
  • Bake in a 350°F oven for 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.
