3lbcorned beef brisket
water, beef stock, or chicken stock
Instructions
Remove the corned beef brisket from its packaging, thoroughly rinse with cold water.
Place the corned beef brisket in the slow cooker, fat side up. Sprinkle the seasoning packet that came with the corned beef evenly over the top.
Pour your chosen liquid (water, beer, or broth) into the slow cooker. Add just enough liquid to come halfway up the sides of the corned beef.
Cover the slow cooker with its lid. Cook the corned beef on high for 4-5 hours or on low for 6-8 hours.
Once the cooking time is complete, carefully remove the corned beef from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Allow it to rest for 5-10 minutes.
With a knife, gently remove the layer of fat from the top of the brisket. Slice, cutting against the grain.
Notes
The longer you cook on low, the more tender the corned beef will be.
