Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 onion finely chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 bell pepper finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • chips
  • pickle spears

Instructions

  • In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the garlic, onions and peppers in oil until translucent. Set aside.
  • Using the same skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain off liquid.
  • Stir in the pepper/onion mixture, tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder, mix thoroughly. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Serve on buns with a dill pickle spear and some chips.
