All-Purpose Baking Mix

A mixture of ingredients used for making biscuits, cobbler and many other baked goods. It's quick, tasty and a lot cheaper than the name brand baking mixes.

  • 9 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup non-fat dry milk
  • 2 cups shortening


  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, salt, sugar and dry milk. Mix well.
  • Cut the shortening into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or two knives.


Store the BakeQuik mix in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to a year.
