This weeks fru were discovered totally by accident. A couple of weeks ago I was cleaning out the refrigerator and a jar of mayonnaise slipped out of my hands and crashed to the floor. I got mayonnaise everywhere, mostly on my stainless steel refrigerator. As I was wiping it off I discovered that the fingerprints and smudges were coming off really easily. Because of this little accident I decided to send the call out to family and friends to see if they knew of any other unique ways to use mayonnaise. Check out this great list.

Health

1. Sunburn – to soothe, apply mayo to the burned skin.

Beauty

1. Cuticles – to condition, dip your fingers in a bowl of mayoand let them soak for 5 minutes. Rinse.

2. Face – to moisturize, give yourself a facial by applying mayo to your face and letting it sit for 10-20 minutes. Rinse.

3. Feet – to soften, apply mayo to your feet and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing.

4. Fingernails – to shine, massage mayo onto your nails and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing.

5. Fingernails – to strengthen, dip the tips of your fingers in a bowl of mayo. Let them soak for a few minutes and then rinse. Repeat a couple of times a week.

6. Hair – to condition, starting at the scalp and working your way to the ends, comb mayonnaise through your hair. Let is sit for an hour and wash with a mild shampoo.

Cleaning

1. Car – to remove sap, apply mayo to the area and let it sit  for 25-30 minutes. Wipe with a soft cloth. Repeat until the sap is removed.

3. Crayon Marks – to remove, rub some mayo on the area and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Wipe with a damp cloth.

4. House Plants – to polish, rub some mayo onto the leaf and buff to shine.

5. Paint Splatters – to clean, apply mayo to the splatters and allow it to sit for a few minutes before wiping with a clean, dry rag.

6. Piano keys – to polish apply a little mayonnaise to the keys and let it sit for 5 minutes. Wipe off the mayo and buff with a soft cloth.

7. Silver – to shine, apply mayo to the silver with a soft cloth, then rinse.

8. Stainless Steel – to remove smudges, apply a thin coat of mayo and wipe away with a clean cloth.

9. Wood – to remove water rings, apply mayo to the stain and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Buff with a clean cloth. (Do a test spot first).

Miscellaneous

1. Baking – to substitute eggs, use 3 tablespoons of mayo instead.

2. Cake – to moisten, add a little mayonnaise to the batter.

3. Hair – to remove gum, rub mayo around the gum with your fingers and gently slide the gum out of the hair.

4. Hinges – to eliminate squeaks, rub some mayo on the hinge. Open and close the door a few times to work it into the hinge.

5. Lice – to kill, comb some mayo through hair and cover with a shower cap before going to bed. In the morning run a comb through the hair and shampoo.

6. Stickers – to remove, apply mayo to the area and let it sit for several minutes. Wipe away with a soft cloth.

7. Wedding Rings – to easily remove apply mayo to your finger then slide the ring off.

8. Wood – to condition, apply a thin layer of mayonnaise to the wood. Allow it to penetrate for 25-30 minutes before buffing with a clean rag.
