Tender apple slices and sweet cinnamon wrapped in a flour tortilla, fried to crispy perfection in an air fryer and then drizzled with a delicious homemade caramel sauce.
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • nutmeg to taste
  • 7 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 lemon, juice and zest
  • 12 (10-inch) flour tortillas
  • vegetable oil
  • toothpicks, if needed
  • caramel sauce
  • Cinnamon sugar (optional)
  1. Preheat air fryer for 2-3 minutes at 400°F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the apples with lemon juice, then add the sugar mixture and coat the apples.
  4. Warm tortilla, making it pliable, then place ½-3/4 cup of apples in the center of tortilla. Fold like a burrito and seal using a little water brushed on the edge. *Use toothpicks if needed.
  5. Lightly spray or brush the tortilla with oil.
  6. Place in air fryer, don't overcrowd the basket, seam side down and cook at 400°F for 6-7 minutes, turning once after 4 minutes.
  7. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
If the air fryer begins to smoke, add a little water to the bottom basket.
**Optional - roll the hot apple flauta in cinnamon sugar before drizzling with caramel syrup
