Things have been pretty crazy around here lately. With school starting, guests visiting and outdoor projects needing to be completed before the weather changes, I’ve been kinda’ bad about getting breakfast on the table. So when Pillsbury sent me some coupons to try their NEW Heat-N-Go mini waffles and pancakes I was thrilled and so were the kids.
It’s a pretty cool breakfast option when your limited on time. Each serving comes individually wrapped and all you have to do is pop it in the microwave for about 30 seconds and wah-lah breakfast is ready. The best part is that once it’s been heated you can take it with you. You don’t even have to mess with sticky syrups because the syrup flavor is already baked into the waffles and pancakes.
As a mom, one of my worries was that these were going to be filled with a lot of things that weren’t good for the kids, but to my surprise I was wrong. Each serving provides 14g of whole grain (that’s good), 0g of trans fat (that’s good) and no high fructose corn syrup (that’s good). So after reading the label I felt good about serving these to my kids.
As for the kids, they love them and not just for breakfast, they’re eating them as an after school snack too. Out of the 2 flavors, maple madness and blueberry, the maple madness is their favorite, I can’t keep them in the freezer. Don’t tell anyone, but I find myself sneaking a package every now and then, blueberry being my favorite.
When Pillsbury first sent me the coupons I had a really hard time trying to find a store that carried them, but now I’m finding them everywhere. I’ve ran into a new problem though, they have become so popular that the stores are running out of them.
