Basic Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • salt and pepper
  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender.
  2. Remove from heat, drain and add butter and milk.
  3. Using a potato masher or an electric mixer, slowly blend the potatoes until they are creamy.
  4. Season with salt and pepper before serving
