Wellness Journey with Personal Trainer Food (Week 1)

August 18, 2017 by Robin 2 Comments

Week 1 of my wellness journey with Personal Trainer Food has been successfully completed, and it wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. After just one week I’m beginning to feel some amazing things happening.

Before diving into the program, I read all of the material that was included. I wanted to be clear about how the program worked so I could give myself the best chance for success.

It wasn’t suggested, but I did decided to remove all of my triggers, like my candy drawer. I replaced all of the candy with program approved snacks, that way if I went to the drawer I wouldn’t be tempted to cheat. I also removed all of the soda from the house, the kids weren’t exactly happy, so I bribed them like any good mother would do.

After removing as many triggers as I could I set my start date. Monday sounded like a good day to start, that way I would have the weekend to indulge in some of my favorite, not so good for you, food.

Wellness Journal (Week 1)

Monday – While it’s not a requirement, Personal Trainer Food suggests doing a 24-48 hour fast before starting the program. It’s suppose to jump start fat loss and detox your body from sugars. I’ve never fasted before, so I decided to fast for only 24 hours. I did however make sure that I had plenty of water on hand to curb any hunger pains I might get.

Tuesday – I was going to start the program today, but the 24 hour fast was easier than I thought it would be, so I decided to fast for another 24 hours. This was a bit harder than the first 24 hours because I was really beginning to feel the hunger pains. Unlike Monday, today I drank broth at meal times and it was surprisingly satisfying.

Wednesday – Finally, I get to put something solid in my tummy. As soon as I woke up, my but was in the kitchen. I heated up a Western omelet and maple sausage and it was devoured in a matter of seconds. I was that hungry!

Thursday – Today was a huge challenge, it’s our youngest sons birthday. For his birthday he wanted stew for dinner and a chocolate raspberry cake. It’s a tradition in our house for me to create a birthday cake from the flavor combinations that they choose. When I was done with the cake it was really hard to not take a bite, especially when everyone was telling me that it’s the best cake they’ve ever had. One of our guests even offered me $40 to make him one. I proud of myself though, I didn’t even take a taste.

Friday – Personal Trainer food suggests walking 20 minutes a day, which will help your body to burn fat. S0, I started walking today. Not really a good day to start because of the raining, so I got on my treadmill and watched a little TV while I walked.

Saturday – Proud to say I haven’t cheated! As many temptations as I’ve had, I’ve had the will power to say “No”.

Sunday – I love how simple it is to prepare a meal. I don’t have to think, just grab, heat and eat. The best part is that the food is amazing, tonight I had Cranberry & Cognac Sausage with Nantucket Blend vegetables. It was something that you would expect to find in a fine restaurant.

I wasn’t expecting any major results after just a week, but I’m finding that I’m not craving sugar like I used to, I have a little more energy and my clothes are little looser. I don’t know if I’ve lost any weight, because I’ve chosen not to weigh myself until the end. My goal is to feel better about myself and I don’t need the numbers on a scale to dictate how I feel.

Check back with me next week to see how week 2 went and if my will-power to see this through holds up.

That’s great you have gotten off to such an amazing start! I don’t know if I could even do the first step of fasting 24 hours. Thanks for sharing your wellness journey with us at the #HomeMattersParty linky.

Fasting was easier than I thought it would be. Before I started I didn’t think that I could do it either. The fasting made a huge difference.
