Have you seen the new Stand ‘N Stuff® Soft Flour Tortillas and Mexican Cooking Sauces from Old El Paso®, yet? I’m in love! Mexican food is my all time favorite and it’s on our menu every Monday. These new products are going to add a whole new experience to our Mexican Monday menu.
I was recently given the opportunity to try this new line of products from Old El Paso®. As you know, I was raised in Southern California where they serve the best Mexican food in the country, so I was a little reluctant to try these products at first.
The first products I tested were the New Mexican Cooking Sauces. Which have complex Mexican flavors, that would take you days to make from scratch. Each one is made with roasted vegetables and traditional Mexican spices. They’re great served with your favorite meat or vegetable.
I used Old El Paso® Chipolte Mexican Cooking sauce to make Chipolte Chicken. It was so easy to make! I just put some boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the slow cooker, poured the Chipolte sauce over the top and let the slow cooker do it’s thing. I served the chicken with some Lime Cilantro Rice and it made an amazing meal.
I used the Old El Paso® Chile & Roasted Garlic Mexican Cooking Sauce to make a Mexican squash dish. In a casserole dish I layered sliced squash, Chile & Roasted Garlic sauce and Queso Fresco cheese. Then I baked it at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. This also turned out amazing! I will definitely be adding this recipe to my Mexican Monday menu.
I also tested out Old El Paso® New Stand ‘N Stuff® Soft Flour Tortillas. These were a huge hit with the kids. They loved being able to fill them themselves with their favorite toppings and I loved that I didn’t have stop eating so that I could re-fold their burrito’s.
After trying the Stand ‘N Stuff tortillas I had a light bulb moment. My idea was to use these in a dessert, so off to the store I went. Thank goodness our store was already carrying the new Stand ‘N Stuff tortillas. I picked up a couple of packages and the ingredients I needed to create my fun dessert(s). Both desserts were easy to create and so, so yummy!
The first dessert is the Stand ‘N Stuff Banana Boat. All I had to do was lightly fry the Stand N’ Stuff Tortilla and let it cool. Then I dipped it in some melted chocolate, I used chocolate chips for this. When the chocolate hardened, I filled it with banana pudding and sliced bananas. Finally I topped it off with a little whipped cream.
