A couple of months ago my husband and I bought a house. As happy as we are to finally have our own home again, there is lot that needs to be done and a number things that we need to furnish the house. One of the things that we are in need of are bar stools for the kitchen. I know what I want but I am having a really hard time finding them. After a lot of searching I thought that I had finally found the perfect ones, they were the right style and the right height, but the wrong price. Since frugality is in my DNA I decided to wait for them to go on sale. I’m still waiting!
This morning as I was driving my sons to school I spied a pile of furniture neatly sitting on the curb, today’s garbage day. I wanted to stop immediately, but remembered the kids reaction when I pulled the Tension Rods out of the garbage. Out of respect for them I decided to check it out on my way back home. As I pulled up to the pile of curbside treasure my heart began to race for what to my wondering eyes did appeared but two bar stools that appeared to be right style and height. I got out and did a quick inspection, they were perfect, other than the color. I loaded them in my car and headed home.
They were both in great condition, a quick cleaning and I can put them to use. In the spring when the weather gets a little warmer I will work my magic and turn them into exactly what I want. They’ll do for now.
As I was writing this post I was wondering how many people drove by this curbside treasure wanting to pick through it but didn’t. Their loss!
